What is Oracle doing to raise money for Macmillan?
This year’s Macmillan Coffee Morning will be taking place on Friday 27th September and The Oracle Group will be joining forces with the rest of the nation to help host ‘The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’. Our hardworking team will be busy baking and decorating in order to raise as much money as possible for this worthwhile charity!
If you haven’t organised your coffee morning yet it’s not too late! You can order your own Macmillan Coffee Morning pack containing all sorts of ideas, decorations and bits and bobs including cake recipes (that’s what I am using to win, wish me luck!).
No doubt after this coffee morning our waistlines will grow a couple of inches or maybe even up a size in our favourite fashion stores, but it is all for a good cause, that is my excuse anyway. Macmillan is the biggest cancer care and support charity in the UK, with over 90% of its income generated from donations and fundraising in the UK. Cancer’s severe effects impact upon people’s lives and their families in many different ways. Macmillan works alongside people to support them and let them have as much control over their lives as possible. They help in various ways such as counselling and financial help if people cannot work due to cancer. Macmillan works 24/7 to help and support patients and their families.

Make your coffee morning a success:
- Get everyone on board, the more the merrier, whether that is baking, the brain tea-ser challenge or even who makes the best cup of coffee, make sure everyone takes part, team work is the dream work!
- Make it fun, you don’t just have to make cakes and coffee. Do something different, such as raffles, tombolas and even novelty auctions. If your manager is as lovely as ours you can even have fun whilst raising money such as having prizes to be won, eg an extra hour lay in on a Monday morning, sounds great!
- Make sure everyone is aware of the date/time, use the free online posters and decorations to make your business look pretty with the free online pack, which includes banners, balloons and even posters to raise the awareness!
