After a year away, awards season is well and truly back underway for the property industry. Bigger and better than ever before, we have thoroughly enjoyed catching up with lots of familiar faces in person over the past few months, all whilst celebrating some incredible award wins for our clients.
The first event of the season was the First-Time Buyer Reader’s Awards, held at the London Marriott Hotel in Grosvenor Square, with television property duo Nicki Chapman and Jonnie Irwin in attendance to crown the winners.
For the coveted Private Developer of the Year category it was Oracle client galore, with Inland Homes taking first place for its fantastic selection of Help to Buy properties available across the South East, and Kent-based developer Millwood Designer Homes taking home Highly Commended. Recognising their contribution to the first-time buyer community, Clarion Housing were the proud winners of the Best Off-Plan Development category for Dagenham Shared Ownership housing scheme Merrielands.
There was also a sensational amount of client success at the Evening Standard New Homes Awards, which were held at The Dorchester Hotel. We were thrilled to see so many of our client entries win awards this year, including Clarion Housing’s entry for Best Shared Ownership Development for affordable Surrey site, Ascot House. Peabody also did particularly well, enjoying a win in two categories – Best Family Home (up to £750,000) for South London development The Pomeroy, and Best Regeneration Project for its work in Southmere, Thamesmead. Also taking home a win in the Best Family Home category was renowned housebuilder Hill, for Davenport Villas at its luxury development Mosaics in Oxford.
Long running Oracle client Millwood Designer Homes was the very deserving winner of a trio of awards, taking home Best Out of London Home and Best Family Home £750,000-£1,5m (<100 homes) for its fabulous show home at Heartenoak Meadows, and Best Small Development (<100 homes) for Biddenden development The Maltings.
Most recently at the WhatHouse? Awards, a number of our clients enjoyed some fantastic successes. Millwood Designer Homes was once again rewarded for its fabulous show home at Heartenoak Meadows, winning Silver for Best House category. Another of our clients, Berkeley Group, scooped the coveted Gold for Best Large Housebuilder, whilst Places for People took home Bronze in the Best House category for its show home at Wood End, Tornagrain. But the biggest win was for Hill Group, who scooped not one but a hat trick of wins – Gold for Best House at Davenport Villas, Mosaics, Silver for Best Sustainable Development at Knights Park, and Silver for Best Medium Housebuilder!
Awards season is always a busy time for everyone in the Oracle office, but it is a pleasure to see that all the hard work has paid off when our clients win awards. We still have plenty more awards to look forward to in the coming months, with the Surrey Property Awards and the Housebuilder Awards taking place in November. We’re looking forward to celebrating more successes with our clients in 2022 – watch this space!
