In June The Oracle Group turned nine! To celebrate we wanted to share our birthday with the community and thought it would be neighbourly to donate 10 afternoon tea boxes to one of our chosen charities, AGE Concern, Epsom. Charity has always been important to Oracle and, especially during the recent months of hardship to so many.
The whole Oracle team got involved in creating afternoon tea boxes and it was fantastic to see the joy they bought to the ladies and gentlemen who received them.
The boxes were inspired by the treats we have missed in the office during lockdown. They included mini cakes, scones, clotted cream, sandwiches, crisps, tea and prosecco. Emma and Tara packaged the afternoon teas into biodegradable boxes and delivered them to some of Age Concern’s clients.
The day of delivery was notably the hottest day of the year so far; we joined forces with Mo Johnson from Age Concern who helped us get them distributed and introduced us to some of Epsom’s elderly residents.
Ten boxes were shared with residents who had been shielding and some had not had anything sweet for months. We were given some lovely feedback and took some socially distanced photos from some of the elderly who were absolutely over the moon with their afternoon treat.
It’s the little things in life which can make such a difference to someone , and we are thrilled to have celebrated our ninth birthday with Age Concern Epsom and its clients.
