Square Meal Venue and Events Live
From time to time, we are all guilty of being fully immersed in the day-to-day running of a business and looking after clients that we barely pause to reflect and lift our heads above our monitors. It isn’t until you take time to step away from your desk, you realise what you are missing. Taking the time to get out of the office to look at new ideas, meet people and get inspired is so important to keep creativity alive.
So, it was with a skip in my step, I took the train to the City, my old stomping ground, to visit the Square Meal Venue and Events Live exhibition last week. Hosted by Old Billingsgate, this was a unique exhibition space next to the Thames, filled with a wide selection of suppliers, keen to show off their wares, venues and ideas for event success. From historic country houses to the state of the art event spaces at the new Tottenham Hotspur stadium, the exhibition provided an extensive list of venues to add to our database.
Coming from a marketing agency, I am always interested on how companies display themselves. With over 250 stands to potentially visit, I am always drawn to the interactive exhibitors and the event suppliers didn’t disappoint. My particular favourites were the edible bubbles, a fountain statue that provided several cocktails for guests to choose from and a charming artist who cut by hand my silhouette (minus the double chin which he kindly took out) in less than two minutes!
It was a worthwhile trip out of the office and I’m excited to share some of my new found inspiration with our clients. As a communications and marketing agency, we are only as good as our last campaign and it is vital we keep up with the latest trends and movements to ensure we provide our clients with the best creative ideas.
