Oracle Events team brings family fun to Berkeley Homes in Fleet
The summer months were very busy for the events team in the Oracle office, as we had a large community fun day to prepare for one of our clients, Berkeley Homes, at their Edenbrook Village development in Fleet.
As part of the development, Berkeley created the 82-acre Edenbrook Country Park, and the local community was invited to join the CEO of Berkeley Homes Tony Pidgley as he officially handed over the park to Hart District Council.
Working with Berkeley Homes and Hart District Council’s countryside department, we planned a day full of exciting activities to celebrate the official handover. Following the ribbon cutting by Tony Pidgley and Leader of Hart District Council Cllr Sharyn Wheale at the newly built BMX pump track, professional BMX riders took to the track to perform several heart-pumping stunts.
Members of the public were then invited to take part, donning all the safety gear before heading to the track to learn how to ride it with lessons from the expert riders. Over the course of the day, over 300 guests rode the BMX track!
As well as the action at the pump track, guests had a selection of further activities to take part in throughout the day. A graffiti wall was launched and, under the guidance of a professional graffiti artist, guests could pick up a can and spray a design of their choice onto the brand-new wall. This was a fantastic opportunity for the community to make their mark on something that will be in position at the country park for years to come! Guests could also take to the pop-up skate ramps, enjoy an outdoor family yoga class, watch chainsaw carvings by expert artist Rob Beckinsale, follow a wildlife arts trail and take part in a bird spotting challenge!
The event was a massive success, attracting over 1000 visitors to Edenbrook Village, and generating positive feedback from those that attended. Leading up to the event, there was a large amount of press coverage in local publications, and it was widely spoken about on social media – this created a buzz and ultimately got more visitors down to the country park on the day
